Cartilage allograft is a processed tissue derived from three sources of donated human cartilage: costal, septal, and articular. For ease of use and proper shaping, the cartilage is provided in the form of slices immersed in alcohol. Most sources and publications emphasize the long-term durability of irradiated cartilage allograft products in the body (approximately 80% of the persistence of autografts).
